Urban Listening
: The translation of the town structure into a picture/Sound collage is

an audio-visual comparison, a confrontation of the acoustic urbanity of the cities of

New York and Berlin. Photographic work of urban features forms the score for Sound-collagens which reflect and convert acoustically the visual urban development impression as a rhythm of the town.

“If there are urban development structures which can mathematically be converted in algorithmic, digital sound samples, this approach works also with nature? Do landscapes

and people as reading score let themselves? Can one hear colors and structures?

Can the both sense organs eye and ear transform their perception principles by the music? Ute Schechtel
